Now, Auditioner® system technology makes it possible to actually hear and judge

Auditioner technology allows sound designers and consultants to work
iteratively with customers to factor in numerous variables, reposition
speakers, try experimental solutions and make the necessary changes and
improvements before a single piece of equipment is installed. You can even do

Auditioner® system technology turns architectural plans into
sound you can actually hear.
Good equipment alone doesn't guarantee superior sound. The way the system is
designed, the way it works with the building, is just as important. Using
architectural plans, Auditioner® system technology allows you to predict a
sound system's performance before any equipment is installed. You can carefully
analyze the entire acoustical effect of your facility, ensuring a total system
design with superior sound quality.

The Modeler® Sound System software helps sound system designers
determine the system configuration and speaker locations.
The Bose Modeler® Sound System software allows a number of speakers to be
placed in a computerized room model of the facility, regardless of size or
shape. The program allows speakers to be aimed, moved, turned on or off, and
amplified. Time delay values can also be set. Modeler® Sound System software
takes into account the surface materials to be used in the venue and how they
affect sound quality and coverage.

Once the Modeler® design is completed, a proprietary Bose
digital audio signal processor is used to process the audio for playback. The
acoustic signal is then delivered to the listener's ears through the
Auditioner® system, a Bose playback system. This advanced technology is
engineered to deliver sound that matches what you will hear in the actual
venue.
So impressive were the results, that the Auditioner® system won the prestigious
"Award for Technological Innovation" from Discover magazine.

Once the Auditioner® system was developed, Bose set out to
scientifically determine its accuracy.
In experiments, test participants listened and then compared the Auditioner®
system's interpretation of various facilities' sound to the "real" sound in the
buildings. Differences in sound were essentially undetectable or regarded as so
small as to be inconsequential.

Auditioner® system technology
