QuietPort technology

The soundbar’s recessed ports use a piece of resistant screen to reduce noise while getting more sound through a smaller opening. The result? Virtually distortion-free bass from a slim profile.

Elegant lightbar

Not sure Alexa heard you? An ingenious light bar helps indicate when Alexa is listening, thinking or speaking.

PhaseGuide technology

Proprietary PhaseGuide technology works with tiny transducers to direct beams of multi-directional sound, delivering an unprecedented level of spaciousness. You’ll feel like sound is coming from places outside your soundbar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Geat experience + Bass module 500 vs 700 I bought the Soundbar 700 and bass module 500 on September 21st: My idea was that I don't listen to music very loud and would not need all the bass of the much more expensive 700 module... Going through the installation, I believe the soundbar takes some time to download/install updates once you first connect it to your wifi. So take your time that will allow your Soundbar to download and install all the updates it needs. I took my time and followed the instruction on the phone app: everything went through like a breeze except the remote. You will learn from comments and emails that there is an update pending on this one, so the remote use is limited to controlling sound and input on the device - that will do for now. Now the app to download: I read reviews complaining about being confusing, too many Bose apps in apple store, etc... Well, the name of the app to download is written in page 2 of the installation manual, easy enough to set you up for success. Now that the system is installed, time to test: sound is good but the bass are really not where they need to be. Not deep enough, not loud enough - I would call it a fail. The Bose app give you a light equalizer, and tried to use that but it does not catch up with the issue: the bass module 500 is made for the soundbar 500... Mixing both system, and you get a bass module that is over-powered by the soundbar and the equalizer is not enough to fill the gap. It is not only about volume, but it just doesn't sound right. I tried to save money here and it did not go well... The next day, I returned the bass module 500 to get the bass module 700 and magic! Pairing the new bass module 700 took a few seconds and sound experience is completely transformed and now the system sounds amazing! ==> Even if it is technically possible, I highly recommend to stay with a consistent system, either all 700 or all 500, but with the lack of independent volume controls on the speakers, mixing systems will leave you disappointed. A funny tip even if you do not have Alexa built in your TV: if you call the soundbar "TV" during the setup, have the soundbar connected to your TV via the HDMI ARC connection, you can turn on and off your TV by saying "Alexa, turn on/off the TV". It does not work 100% somehow, and I believe it doesn't work when the soundbar is last setup on music only (input not set to get sound from TV) so it will turn your soundbar on/off but not your TV, but it is still a cool feature.

FAQs

How is the Bose Soundbar 700 soundbar different from the Bose Solo 5 TV sound system?

The Solo 5 system is designed primarily to provide better TV sound with an emphasis on dialogue. It greatly improves your TV sound and helps with dialogue intelligibility. The Solo 5 system does not include any built-in virtual assistant functionality. The Bose Soundbar 700 does that and much more—including Amazon Alexa voice control built in. It provides a wide soundstage (a lot wider than the bar itself) and brings your music and movies to life by immersing you in the sound. You will hear sounds coming from places where there are no physical speakers. The Bose Soundbar 700 also includes ADAPTiQ audio calibration technology, which adjusts the sound of the soundbar to best fit your room, no matter the shape or furnishings. So it always sounds its best.

Can the Bose Soundbar 700 be mounted to the wall?

Yes. The optional new Bose Soundbar Wall Bracket lets you mount the soundbar flush to the wall.

How do I run the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system with the Bose Soundbar 700?

ADAPTiQ is part of the overall setup process and driven through the Bose Music app. You will be prompted to run ADAPTiQ after you download the Bose Music app and start the setup process. If you skip running ADAPTiQ during the initial setup process—or change your room significantly after initially running ADAPTiQ—you can go back into the app and do it again. Initiate ADAPTiQ and follow the prompts in the app.

How do I connect a Bluetooth® device with the Bose Soundbar 700?

Press and hold the Bluetooth® source button on the remote for several seconds (the light will flash on the Bose Soundbar 700 remote). Ensure that your mobile device is in pairing mode and select the Bose Soundbar 700 from the list. You also can pair your mobile device to the soundbar using the Bose Music app.

Does the Bose Soundbar 700 have NFC technology for Bluetooth® pairing?

No.

What type of remote is included with the Bose Soundbar 700?

The Bose Soundbar 700 comes with a new backlit universal remote control. Line of sight is not required between the remote and the soundbar because it does not use IR. Instead, the remote uses Bluetooth® Low Energy to communicate with the soundbar and then the soundbar blasts IR commands to control your other devices.

How does the Bose Soundbar 700 connect to my TV?

The simplest way to connect the Bose Soundbar 700 is via the supplied HDMI cable to your TV. If your TV has an HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC connection, you should use that connection. If your TV does not have an HDMI connection, then you should connect the Bose Soundbar 700 to the TV using the optical cable (supplied with the Bose Soundbar 700).

How do I control other devices with the Bose Soundbar 700 remote controls?

There are two ways to control other devices: HDMI-CEC and IR. The soundbar may be able to control connected devices (TV, Blu-ray Disc™ player, games console) over HDMI-CEC. This allows you to turn on other devices and operate them with the soundbar remote without any programming. It also enables one-touch access to entertainment, enabling you to turn on multiple devices and select an input with a single touch of a button. However, not all devices respond to these commands. In particular, cable and satellite boxes may not respond to HDMI commands. The customer still can control devices that do not respond to HDMI commands by programming the Bose Soundbar Universal Remote (included with the Bose Soundbar 700).

Does the Bose Soundbar 700 have HDMI-eARC capability?

Yes.

What placement guidelines should be considered to ensure optimal audio performance from the Bose Soundbar 700?

The Bose Soundbar 700 uses the reflective surfaces of the room to deliver a spacious home cinema experience. To ensure optimal audio performance, the soundbar should be placed equidistant from each side wall and directly in the front centre of the TV. No objects should be placed in front of the soundbar and it should not be placed recessed inside a cabinet, as this will result in a limited soundstage.

Can source devices, such as a cable box, iPod, gaming system etc., be connected directly to the Bose Soundbar 700?

No. All sources must be connected to the TV and then a single connection (via the HDMI or optical cable) must be made from the TV to the soundbar.

Can I use my streaming music presets from the Bose Music app with the Bose Soundbar 700?

Yes. The Bose Soundbar 700 uses presets via the Bose Music app and the remote control.

Can you mix and match the wireless bass modules and soundbars?

Yes. The Bose Soundbar 500, Bose Soundbar 700, Bose Bass Module 500 and Bose Bass Module 700 all use the same wireless protocols and can be mixed and matched (e.g. a Bose Soundbar 700 can be wirelessly paired with a Bose Bass Module 500 or a Bose Soundbar 500 with a Bose Bass Module 700). However, the design language and materials of the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose Soundbar 700 product lines were designed to complement products in the same class (e.g. Bose Soundbar 500 products together and Bose Soundbar 700 products together). So, the glass on the Bose Soundbar 700 products looks more complementary together than if you mixed one Bose Soundbar 500 product with a Bose Soundbar 700 product.
