Bose Surround Speakers

Small speakers. Big surround sound.

You want to hear the car chases and explosions. You want to savour the guitar solos and sweeping verses. You want to be in the middle of all the action—and the Bose Surround Speakers put you there. Designed exclusively to pair with the Bose Soundbar 500 or the Bose Soundbar 700, these unobtrusive rear surround speakers provide sweeping sound that adds to your movies, sports and TV shows.

When it comes to rear surround speakers, the only thing you want to stand out is the sound. Standing less than 11 cm high, the Bose Surround Speakers fit right in with sound that stands out.

Simple setup

Adding these surround speakers to your soundbar leads to a thrilling, cinema-like experience. And the setup? Simple. Two wireless receivers accompany the speakers to facilitate a wireless connection to the soundbar. Once connected, you have a premium acoustic setup to complement the powerful performance of the soundbar.

Complete the package

Want another compact option to kick the performance up a notch? Adding a bass module—like the Bose Bass Module 500 or the Bose Bass Module 700—can complete the package for full, room-rocking sound. Both bass modules have a wireless range of 9 metres and fit nicely in any room. It’s the difference between just hearing bass and feeling thunder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent addition to the Soundbar 700 This is a follow on to my review of the Soundbar 700, wanted to let everyone know about the surround speaker option for the system. This is an excellent addition to an already incredible surround sound system. The build quality is very high end as expected and the speakers installed relatively easy, you will need to “assemble” the connectors for the back of the speakers; everything you need is included and it allows you customize the length of the power cable for a clean install, you do however need to find someplace for the power brick (about the size of a laptop power supply) but other than that it is very straightforward and easy enough to add to the Soundbar 700. The configuration part can be tricky if you try and connect them to the Soundbar 700 via the remote control, I would highly suggest using the app instead as it is much easier than the key combinations needed for the remote method. Also, if you are adding these after you have installed and configured the Soundbar 700 then you will need to run the ADAPTiQ setup again to gain the full use of the speakers. I can tell you that after using the system without the surround and then adding and properly configuring them, you will not be disappointed with the results. I thought at first glance that there was no way the tiny speakers would make a noticeable difference but I was wrong, they add a depth and dimension to the sound that gives it a 3D sound field; I was very impressed with the results just from adding these little jewels. A final thought… If you are already spending the money on the base system, then for a little extra the surround speakers will complete the package; I would say it is akin to buying car and adding the chrome wheels (it is the little extra that makes a world of difference).

Yes. The Bose Surround Speakers connect wirelessly to the Bose Soundbar 500 and the Bose Soundbar 700—so no wires are required from the front of the room to the rear. However, the Bose Surround Speakers do require electrical power to power the wireless receiver and there is speaker wire connecting the wireless receiver to the speaker itself.

Can the Bose Surround Speakers be wired to the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Soundbar 700?

No. The Bose Surround Speakers can only be connected wirelessly.

What is the range of the wireless link between the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Soundbar 700 and the Bose Surround Speakers?

The Bose Surround Speakers are intended for use in the same room as the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Soundbar 700 and they have a range of about 9 m.

What placement guidelines should be considered to ensure optimal audio performance of the Bose Surround Speakers?

We recommend placing the speakers behind the main listening area—one on the left side and one on the right side of the room—for optimum sound quality.
