Performing a software update

Periodic software updates may be needed to keep your SoundLink® Wireless Mobile speaker compatible with mobile devices released after your speaker's manufacture date.

To install a Bose® system update, follow these steps:

Note: A USB-A to USB-micro B cable is required for this update.

Be sure your computer has Internet connectivity

Click here to download and run the update application

Depending on the computer being used select either "Download for Windows" or "Download for Mac"

For Windows® PC

Download the application and follow these steps:

In the "File Download" window, click "Run" or "Save"

If you click "Run," follow the prompts to perform the update

If you click "Save," select a location for saving the file (Bose_BLUETOOTH_Speaker_Update.exe). Then go to that location and start the application

Choose a language from the drop-down menu

Read and accept the "End-User Licence Agreement"

Ensure that administrator credentials are available for your computer

If applicable, install the needed drivers by clicking the "Install Driver" button

Once the driver installation is complete, as indicated by the green tick mark, click "Next" to continue

Plug the power supply into a working power outlet and turn the SoundLink® speaker on. Then connect the speaker to the computer using a USB-A to USB-micro B cable

Prepare the speaker for the update. Once communication has been established, click "Next" to continue

Do not disconnect or unplug the SoundLink® speaker during the update process

The SoundLink® speaker can be turned off once the update has been completed

For Mac®

Download the application and follow these steps:

In the "File Download" window, click Save. Select a location for saving the file (Bose_BLUETOOTH_Speaker_Update.exe). Then go to that location and start the application

Choose a language from the drop-down menu

Read and accept the End-User Licence Agreement

If applicable, install the needed drivers by clicking the "Install Driver" button

You may be asked for a user name and password

Once the driver installation is complete, as indicated by the green tick mark, click "Next" to continue

Plug the power supply into a working power outlet and turn the SoundLink® speaker on. Then connect the speaker to the computer using a USB-A to USB-micro B cable

Prepare the SoundLink® speaker for the update

Once communication has been established, the update will automatically start. Do not disconnect or unplug the speaker during the update process

The speaker can be turned off once the update has been completed
