Understanding light bar status information

Applies to:

An LED light bar is located on the front of the soundbar. The activity of the light bar provides you with information about the status of the soundbar in relation to the selected source.

Light bar location on soundbar

A red light appearing to the left of the light bar indicates that the voice assistant microphone in the soundbar is off. Tap the Microphone Off icon on top of the soundbar to re-enable the voice assistance microphone. 


Light bar pulses white

Pulsing white indicates that the soundbar is connecting to a Wi-Fi® network. When the Bluetooth® mode has been selected, this activity indicates that the soundbar is connecting to a Bluetooth device.

 

A flash of white light indicates that the soundbar has received a signal from the remote.


Light bar glows solid white then fades to black

Solid white fading to black indicates that the soundbar has connected to a Wi-Fi network. When the Bluetooth mode has been selected, this activity indicates the soundbar has connected to a Bluetooth device.


Light bar pulses blue

Pulsing blue indicates that the soundbar is in Bluetooth mode and is ready to connect to a new Bluetooth device.

When the light bar pulses twice, this activity indicates that the list of devices paired to the soundbar has been cleared.


Two white lights glow

Two solid white lights indicate music playback has been paused.


White light glows on the right of the light bar

A white light appearing on the right indicates that the soundbar has received a “volume up” command.


White light glows on the left of the light bar

A small white light appearing on the left indicates the soundbar has received a volume down command.


Large white light glows on the left of the light bar

A large white light glowing on the left indicates the soundbar has been muted.


White light on light bar slides to center then glows solid

A white light sliding to the centre then glowing solid indicates that Alexa is listening.

White light on light bar slides to sides

White light sliding to the sides indicates that Alexa is thinking.


Light bar pulses white

Pulsing white across the entire light bar indicates that Alexa is speaking.


Light bar pulses yellow

Pulsing yellow indicates that there is a notification from Alexa.


Light bar glows solid amber

Solid amber indicates that Wi-Fi setup is in progress.


White light on light bar slides right to left

White light sliding from right to left indicates that the soundbar is downloading a software update.


White light on light bar slides left to right

White light sliding from left to right indicates that the soundbar is installing a software update.


Pulsing amber four times indicates that a playback error has occurred. Refer to the Bose Music app for more information.


Light bar pulses red

Pulsing red four times indicates that your request could not be completed due to the service being temporarily unavailable. Try the request again later. 


Light bar glows solid red

Solid red indicates an error with the soundbar that it cannot resolve on its own. If this light bar activity occurs, please contact Bose customer service.
