Connecting headphones to your system
You can connect headphones to your system for situations when low volume listening is needed. This can be useful, for example, to listen to audio at night without disturbing others in your home with the sound from your speakers.
Wirelessly connect Bluetooth® headphones to your speaker using the Bose app.
The SimpleSync feature in the Bose app lets you connect Bluetooth headphones to your speaker so the same audio can be heard from both your speaker and the connected headphones. You can also separately adjust the speaker and headphones volume levels. So, for example, if you don't want the speaker to be heard and instead want to listen only through the headphones, lower the volume level of just the speaker.
- In the Bose app, select your speaker.
- Select Group.
- Put your headphones into pairing mode; typically done by pressing and holding its Bluetooth button for a few seconds.
- Once your headphones appear beneath the SimpleSync heading on the Group screen, select them and they will connect to the speaker,
To create a SimpleSync connection without the Bose app:
- Turn on the Bose Bluetooth headphones (or speaker) being connected to the Bose soundbar.
- Put the device being connected into pairing mode; typically done by pressing and holding its Bluetooth button (or power switch) for a few seconds.
When the device being connected is in pairing mode, its status indicator will blink blue and, if voice prompts are enabled, you'll hear the "Ready to connect" message. - With the Bose soundbar on, on the Bose remote for the soundbar, press and hold the Bluetooth button for two seconds.
Within 30 seconds, the device connect to the soundbar and you will hear the same audio through both devices.
